You cannot download version 6.10.36 if you are running a 64 bit version of Windows 7, it appears that web site for the BOINC client software checks which version of Windows you are running.

Correct! Use: http://boinc.berkeley.edu/download.php to auto-detect your Windows and download the correct BOINC client version or: http://boinc.berkeley.edu/download_all.php to make a manual choice between OS-es, 32 or 64 bits and (beta) versions.
